I have recently graduated with a BSc Honours Sports Therapy degree where I studied in Birmingham at University College Birmingham for 3 years.
During my time at university I gained experience through clinic
sessions that were set up by the university, where we treated the
patients and ran the clinic ourselves. From both my theory and practical
training I have learnt about the different treatments involved in
sports therapy and am able to conduct them to a high standard meeting
the needs of each individual client.
Along with clinic experience I have also volunteered at sporting
events such as the London Marathon, Great North Run and the Birmingham
Half Marathon, as well as Jiu Jitsu nationals, where pre and post
event massage was given to prepare and help recover the athletes.
Since graduating and returning to Devon I have done some sports
therapy work with Plymstock Albion Old Oaks Rugby Club where I treat
their injuries before and after the game, and during their matches.
I am a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapies; they keep
me up to date with Continued Professional Development (CPD) courses
so I can maintain my treatments and knowledge to a high standard.
